sorry no pictures of the cookies and the carrot cake!
2 week long update - Everyday life is not so interesting
Not boring, but not so many new things happened, but in the same time I have to live here the usual everyday life, wich means… yeah “I get use to the everyday I wake up in this beautifull country and I don’t realize it”… no it’s not laziness… maybe a sort of… but :-)
doesn’t matter. the last to week was full of baking, cooking, reading, boardgames, Lars birthday parties, coffees and a big plan.
So let’s see the new results of baking and cooking:
- broccoli cream soup ( and a broke injured hand blener) and spaghetti crispies.
- pumpkin-oatmeal cookies
- pumpkin waffels
- Willy Wonka birthday cake a.k.a. Apricot Pálinka cake
- Carrot Cake with marcipan carrots
- and today I made ginger-chocolate pearcake
Dear Mom, this means that I still eat well :-) don’t worry
Boardgames means Game of Life, next time Swiss monopoly I hope so, with credit cards!
parties: because on Thursday we were only some good friends, that was the Willy Wonka cake evening,
and the second was on Friday at Daniel’s place the Fancy Dress Birthday party. dadaist version: little black dress, high heels, black bow tie, carrot cake, singing and guitar music, naked barbie doll, so much fun, home at 4 am.
and for sure Belveder Sundays, alone or with company, the only matter is that I sould find new cafes, but I became addicted to this place.
and the big plan:
We are going to visit Budapest in the end of November. We arrive with plane on Thursday, I will show the city and the best party in that weekend: Közgáz GólyaBál the plan’s part is also to visit some Spa and maybe the Zoo too :-) And we are coming back with Gábor by car.
Can’t wait, just like this weekend, when He is coming to visit me again!
how to make the perfect pumpkin pie?
Wednesday -Tuesday - too lazy
and too buzy for sure, to write the blog
the dadaist style worked last time - ok I remember the feedbacks be more personal - but these should be postcards, and seriously who cand wrote more in the back of a postcard more than …hm 10lines?
so that happened last week:
I fall asleep at I.M. class, and some lovely friend posted it. 8 times… delayed presentation and feeling guilty about it still… Janine with Sch… Gestens panic and signature collecting in the blue book.
Doubled law class, where for the first time I could sit behind a desk (!), after that lovely moment my whole afternoon was frustrated I bought the two superexpensive and justarrivedfromthepressoffice law books. I have payed many times a lot of money for books… but never ever so much! On the evening I tried the hiphop class with Orsi, and met Anna and Manuela too. It was fun after (in the last 8 minutes) when I started to gave “names” for the movements, as we used to that in öcsi choreographies. Any way it was fun and felt so well after :-)
I was late a bit from French class, but somehow I only woke up at 9:45 when class starts at 10:15 at Pérolles… better later than never… right? :-P The Fall has arrived with the allday rains, so in the evening when we met for Daniel’s party wich was the best in the last month. Balloons are still funny if you are drunk and playing like a 4 years old :-D oh and not to forget: what the f*ck? question to the “i’m so handsome” toga guy and the ” oh yes you’re so handsome” drunk girl. Waterbed! and chinchilla who has his allyear stress amount. Anyway people were dancing (to mostly good music) and chatting and it was a great party finally!
Sleepy weekend - thank you cold front -
One month! long I’m living in Fribourg :-)
Sunday’s Perfect Pumpkin Pie, and Game of Life party and the imagination war with unicorns rainbows, sharks, castles and unbeleivable creatures from childhood
Monday is monday for ever, even if the sun is shining again, but the headache is coming with it, but it’s ok if you can make broccoli soup after and spaghetti crispers! I finished the second book of “A song of ice and fire” started again the school books…
Tuesday with lovely sunshine, and a good coffee at Café de la Presse, listening to old men’s chatting and young people’s too from the other side. See you soon Sunshine!
this was a bit long for a postcard, but it’s more personal maybe :-) I’m pretty sure that I forgot something really important…
ps: yepp what I forgot: thanks to the sunlight, I walked behind Pérolles where is an amazing little wood, some people are running there… not me! I was just listening to the silence

Friday - success somehow
Meeting point at the wave, to buy the law books second hand. My only class was canceled, but I just figured that out when I arrive to the classroom. That’s how I met an old writer, who is used to smoke a pipe and was interested how life is going in Hungary. Without class I had the chance to make the photocopies for next week classes. Here the profs take all the necessary articles in a classeur to the library’s copie room, where you have the possibility to make your photocopies of them. So after taking the Intr.Gestion copies, I found the Intercultural Management files too so can’t skip the class next Wednesday.
Big supermarket-shopping tour for last ingredients, and the blue bags.
Fribourg city has his own garbage bags, what you can only buy at Migros, and only in those you can take your garbage out on the street.
Cooked my very first lecsó, and baked banana bread with chocolate banana jam for the Hungarian dish party. The plan was to say thankyou for all the good Fribourgoises friends - it means now 5 of them - for helping me in the last weeks. But everybody canceled it except Lars, who was really happy that he has so many banana bread :) and my flatmate Reza also came home a bit, so he could also taste the lecsó.
After so many food we had to walk a bit. We were in Neuveville - the old town-, where we found some fairies and some wonderful view of the city.
Friday - erasmus students everywhere
I have my swiss bank account! applause please for Bank Cantonale de Fribourg. Also they give me only the card, when I have the residence permit. So 2 weeks maybe, and I can pay with a normal swiss card. Just to let you know, they don’t accept everywhere Visa Cards :/
Just after the law info session, and before the esn walk, I asked some help from the guy in Agef , why can’t I print from my phone via usb, so he printed my request in their office - for free (!)
Waited a lot for the ESN citywalk, choosed the english group, and noticed, that also erasmus students are our guides… bad start, but after the first 100 meters, I just heard a word: -I’m hungarian! I met Imi, Orsi and Áron. On the walk they showed (for me) two new views to the valley, so I was proud a bit that I knew already the most part of the city :) In the end we went to Centre Fries where -after waiting a lot- we had some presentation where they gave as some practical tips to the University, also how to find out where our class is. Wich is not so easy if your campus is by 5 parts in the city’s 5 corner.
By the way Centre Fries is a kind of community house for uni. students. also the UniFr sign is on the gate. In the house there is laundry (for 10,- CHF pro semester), studio if you have a band or just playing alone, photo lab, some party place, with bar, and a lot of place to just hang out. get a bit of the feeling of “Öcsi iroda”, old fotels and some extra decoration :) nice memories somewhere… but one big difference, there are some students who are really living here in the attic!
Also made some cookies for the next day hiking tour. so first bake -check even if it was technically on Saturday already
